Overview Photos Specs Layouts

Outside:
Built upon the recently revised Iveco chassis, at first glance the Laika Kreos 3005 looks high, yet the overall height is only a little over average at 3.10 metres.  The white body colour is broken up by grey skirts, with Laika trademark flying dog logos on the rear and side panels, plus varigated grey graphics to the front overcab area.  Any sharp angle on the body has been masked by curved cappings to soften the look.  The front overcab moulding, whilst generous, is of slippery design and has been raked back so as not to look too obtrusive.

A large, top hinged, gas strut assisted door gives access to the garage, the space tapering inside, but still big enough to house a scooter, having low loading height and a ramp provided.  There is also heating and an external shower housed within the garage, along with the spare wheel.  The caravan entrance is high, hence the electric double step; the raised floor facilitates underfloor storage, accessed either side through the hinged side skirts with second internal flaps, which are rubber sealed to keep water and dirt from the contents inside.

Access to services points is good, with fresh and grey waste water valves operated by handles mounted just under the body adjacent to the entrance step.  There is also a separate external locker with additional Thetford toilet tank provided.  A walk-on roof, ladder and roof rails are all part of standard specification.

Inside:
The interior finish here is upmarket with aluminium style mouldings to compliment the light woodwork.  Standard living quarters specification is high, including full kitchen (unusual for a continental motorhome), extractor fan, fridge freezer, separate shower with integral seat, clothes drying rack and Heki 3 rooflight.  Blinds are of the double insulated Seitz type with metal casings.  There is also a heat exchanger from the engine to warm the body of the motorhome while travelling in addition to the Truma 6002EH programmable electric and gas heating system.

Storage is phenomenal; huge locker space complimented by a deep wardrobe with shelving.  Both the kitchen and washroom have thoughtfully designed drawers and lockers.

The dinette area comprises of an ‘L’ shaped seat on the nearside, offering two forward facing three point seatbelts, plus a long bench on the offside.  Access to the cab is a matter of practice to ensure no bumps on the head passing under the front bulkhead.  The vehicle handbrake had been moved from the aisle area of the cab to assist entry from the dinette, however, operation from its new position to the right hand side of the drivers seat is awkward.

At night-time the cab is screened off by a curtain under the overcab bed.  Once aloft via the removable ladder, the size of the bed area is apparent, a full size mattress on a slatted base providing comfort with plenty of height clearance, while lighting both sides is a nice touch and a warm air duct feeds air from the heating system for cold nights.  An electric roof vent and front window with blinds provide air and light to this high quality bed area.
